I sculpt my lures individually from cypress in my Austin, Texas woodshop.
They are kinetic sculpture and have been featured in both
Fine WoodWorking and Craft Magazine see reviews .
The lures are also carried in several top art and craft galleries across the country.
My lures are made from native cypress. I like cypress because it is light, works well, and paints well. Also, I grew up surrounded by giant cypress in Louisiana. Once I've sculpted a lure,it may get as many as nine coats of paint and spar varnish to give it a very realistic “old time” look. The giant treble hooks are real and come from Norway.My lures are balanced to hang from a single point and turn easily in the slightest breeze.
